In addition, there were presentations on future product development, as well as a talk show featuring artist Ruka and Gota Nishidera.
km5 Inc. (Head office: Suginami-ku, Tokyo; CEO and Designer: Tatsushi Funayama) held an event to commemorate its 5th anniversary at MIL GALLERY JINGUMAE in Harajuku on Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th.
To mark the fifth year of the km5 brand, the company has announced a new brand concept, "MUSIC IN A WAY." and has unveiled a new key visual featuring model/artist Ruka.
In addition to the existing CD players "Cp1" and "Cp2" and on-ear headphones "Hp1," the exhibits at the venue also featured the first public unveiling of products currently being considered for future release, such as new color variations currently being prototyped.
In addition to exhibiting all of the collaboration models that have been created with various artists and brands, we also had an installation using the Cp1, which was available exclusively at this event.
On the first day, Friday the 24th, a reception party will be held for media and related parties.
In the opening presentation, CEO and designer Funayama expressed his gratitude for the past five years, and announced the future concept of the km5 brand and new products that are currently being considered.
Looking back on the many ways we have proposed to enjoy music, centered on CDs, such as listening to music on CD or displaying and looking at CD jackets, we have established "MUSIC IN EVERY WAY" as our new brand concept, with the brand's value being to continue to deliver a wide variety of ways to enjoy music.
Going forward, the company plans to develop new products that allow users to experience the benefits of not only CDs but also other physical media, and has announced its intention to continue proposing unique ways to enjoy music by pursuing integration with culture such as interior design, art, and fashion.
The talk show that followed featured Ruka, a model and artist, and Gota Nishidera, an artist and music producer, who were invited to a talk session about CDs and km5 products.
Ruka appears in the brand's new key visuals and uses km5 products, while Nishidera Gota will release a collaborative model with CP1 in 2023. The two, who are closely involved with the brand, spoke from an artistic perspective about their thoughts on km5 products and what products they would like to see developed in the future.
This year marks our fifth anniversary, and we will continue to provide products that will make your music experience more diverse and rich, including developing new products that suggest diverse ways to enjoy music and planning collaborative models.
