km5 Inc. (headquartered in Suginami Ward, Tokyo) has announced two new products—"Instant Sound Audio Sp1" and "Instant Wireless Mixer Mp1"—developed around the concept of "enhancing the enjoyment of the Cp1."

To mark the announcement, we held a product launch event and talk show featuring music producer and DJ tofubeats; model and DJ Yuka Mizuhara, who is active both in Japan and abroad; and Tsubasa Shimada, a DJ for the InterFM program "MINT JUICE RADIO."

October 21 (Thu): New Product Launch Event

At the new product launch event, the proceedings began with a presentation on the new product by Funayama, the representative of km5.

Marking our fifth anniversary, we took a look back at our brand’s journey—a path defined by the support we have received from many customers for our product lineup, centered on the "Cp1" CD player, as well as our various collaborations with artists both in Japan and abroad.

Next, the company unveiled two newly developed products—the "Instant Sound Audio Sp1" wireless speaker and the "Instant Wireless Mixer Mp1" wireless mixer—designed to help users "enjoy" the brand’s flagship product, the "Cp1," even more. The presentation covered the background behind their development, the new ways to enjoy music that emerge when these products are paired with the Cp1, and the key features of each device.


In the subsequent talk show, guests—music producer/DJ tofubeats and model/DJ Yuka Mizuhara—joined host Tsubasa Shimada for a discussion centered on CDs and music. The guests brought along CDs that hold special personal significance, sharing stories about the role music plays in their daily lives. They also offered their perspectives on the newly announced "Mp1," discussing what it’s like to use the device and highlighting its unique appeal from their respective points of view.

tofubeats explains that one reason he continues to buy CDs is the value inherent in the connection between memory and physical media—specifically, how the act of engaging with a work can evoke memories of when one first listened to it or how one came to discover it. He notes that the appeal of the CD format lies not just in the music itself, but also in the way that holding the physical product can bring back past memories.

Yuka Mizuhara mentioned that she would like to use the Mp1 when heading out with friends or family—for instance, on drives or picnics. She spoke about how being able to easily take music along and enjoy it with those close to you can create opportunities to share time together through music.

During the talk show, a demonstration was held in which the Cp1 and Mp1 were connected to play a CD. This showcased the unique experience offered by the Mp1—allowing users not just to listen to music, but to actively manipulate the sound themselves and discover new ways to enjoy it.


At the reception party, TOMMY (BOY)—known for a DJ style that incorporates CDs—delivered a set using the Cp1 and Mp1. The event also featured DJ performances by Yuka Mizuhara and tofubeats, with a diverse range of musical styles enlivening the venue.


Listening to, engaging with, and mixing music—at this new product launch, we brought to life the core philosophy of our brand, km5—“MUSIC IN EVERY WAY”—through hands-on musical experiences with our products and by connecting with guests who share a deep love for music.

Regarding the two new products

1. Enjoy it in combination with the Cp1: "Instant Sound Audio Sp1"

  • A slim, compact wireless speaker the same size as the Cp1
  • Built-in battery / 12 hours of continuous use
  • Equipped with FM radio / Supports SD cards / Wall-mountable

Equipped with two 45mm full-range speakers, two passive radiators, and a digital power amplifier IC.
Despite its slim body, it delivers solid bass and an expansive sound.
In addition to Bluetooth connectivity, it supports FM radio and Micro SD card playback, and also allows for the recording of radio programs.
It features a built-in battery that allows for approximately 12 hours of continuous use, and also supports stereo playback when two Sp1 units are connected.
Designed to be portable, this device lets you enjoy music or radio wherever you like—whether in the living room, the kitchen, or even outdoors. It can also be wall-mounted, allowing it to blend naturally into your interior decor while bringing music into your everyday life.

2. Greater freedom for your Cp1 sound: "Instant Wireless Mixer Mp1"

  • Compact, fully wireless 2-channel mixer, the same size as the Cp1
  • Built-in battery; provides 6 hours of continuous use.
  • LOOP/Equipped with a filter function

A 2-channel mixer equipped with two Bluetooth inputs, allowing for the wireless mixing of audio sources such as a Cp1 or a smartphone.
The mixed audio can be output wirelessly to a Bluetooth-enabled speaker, allowing for a cable-free DJ performance.
It features line-level inputs and outputs, supports wired connections, and includes a 3-band EQ, a filter, and a loop function that allows for the repeated playback of specific sections of a track. It is equipped with a built-in lithium-ion battery, enabling approximately 6 hours of continuous use.

We are sponsoring "SHIBUYA SOUND RIVERSE – SSR2026 –," a showcase event organized by the music distribution service "FRIENDSHIP."
At the venue, you can experience DJing using CDs from the performing artists—as well as other artists associated with "FRIENDSHIP."—on a full setup consisting of the "Cp1," "Mp1," and "Sp1" units.&We will provide a try-out corner.

 

② DESIGNART TOKYO 2026 “AUTOBAHN - The Design Store”

We will be participating in "AUTOBAHN - The Design Store"—a special project hosted at the main venue of "DESIGNART TOKYO," a design and art festival that began in 2017 and is now celebrating its 10th edition. The event takes place along the former Tokyo Expressway (KK Line) in Ginza, inviting visitors to explore the city while discovering future masterpieces that truly resonate with the heart.

At our booth, we plan to sell products such as Cp1 and Hp1, and showcase new items.
